When I breeded an Electrode with a Ditto (for the pokedex), Electrode in Dusk ball and Ditto in Ultra ball, I found out that the resulting Voltorb was in a normal Poke ball. What usually happens is that the resulting Pokemon would be in pokeball the same as of one of the parents. Is it because it is a "pokeball Pokemon"? Or is there a deeper reason?

Starting in Generation VI, the Poké Ball of the female Pokémon will be passed down to its offspring. Genderless and male Pokémon, as well as Ditto, have no impact on the Poké Ball passed down. The Master Ball and Cherish Ball cannot be passed down.

Electrode is genderless, therefore the Dusk Ball wasn't passed down.
Same goes with Pokemon like Metagross and Magnezone.

I had no idea that electrodes could be male and female too... thanks anyway!
Yeah... I messed up there.
