In Pokemon Mystery Dungeon EoS, I want to level up quickly, so I tried the Water/Rock maze, which consists of Omanyte and Kabuto. The Omanyte give around 100-150 exp, which is alright. But the Kabuto give 20, rarely 30, exp. Yet these Kabuto have to be, like, twice my level. It takes 4 Force Palms and an Absorb from both Riolu and Treeko. And it still sometimes hangs on. It does 30 damage with Scratch, which is over half of my health, and 52 damage with Aqua Jet, which literally leaves me with 7 hp. Why are these Kabuto so strong, but they only give around 20-30 exp?

@~Scarlet~ I tested and what they say is accurate.
Does the difference in exp occur for Kabuto and Omanyte that appear on the same floor?
I don't understand what you're saying but basically:
Let's say I'm on 3F and I battle both a Kabuto and Omanyte on the same floor.
I kill the Omanyte. I get 121 exp
I kill the Kabuto on the same floor. I get 31 exp.
Ok so I'm not sure if I this is true or not but:

There's a special episode (I forgot which one) which involves Kabuto in the dungeon, and in order to make it so that the player didn't level up in the dungeon easily, they give very little exp.

Again, not sure if its true, but my friend told me lol.
Kabuto can be found in beach cave and it probably uses the base experience yield from beach cave with a multiplier

Kabuto is first encountered in the Beach Cave, which is the first dungeon you can go to. Pokémon from the starter dungeon scale lower, unfortunately.

Unlike the mainline games, EXP isn't based on HP, so things like this just happen, I guess.
