How do I change my Pokémon’s nickname in Sword when the name rater says its a good name?

I really dislike my Kyurem and Naganadel’s names but I don’t know how to change them. Could someone please help? Should I explain more?

You can’t change the nicknames for a traded pokemon

If the player shows the Name Rater an outsider Pokémon, he will normally refuse to change its nickname. In Pokémon Sword and Shield the Name Rater can give a nickname to an unnicknamed outsider Pokémon, but will still refuse to change the name of an outsider Pokémon if it has a nickname.

Outsider Pokémon is in regards to not being caught by you in the same save file. Unfortunately, you’re stuck with those nicknames.

It’s generous of them actually. Before, you weren’t able to touch the name of a traded Pokémon, even if it didn’t have a nickname.

Why would they restrict it at all? I think it a very stupid rule.

I think an NPC once said something along the lines of “the name from the previous trainer was a precious gift, so the nicknames can’t be changed”. Although I may be misquoting or misremembering. Seems like they wanted it to be a bonding aspect of some sorts, for emotional connection.
