I'm confused and don't know if Beldum just evolves like every other Pokémon or if they "come together" to eventually form a Metagross. If you know please tell me!

In the games, Beldum evolves by level up. Beldum evolves into Metang at level 20, and Metang evolves into Metagross at level 45. In the Pokedex lore (that's what I'm calling it), two Beldum fuse to make a Metang, two Metang fuse to make Metagross, and Mega Metagross is the result of one Metagross, one Metang, and two Beldum linking up.
Also, is this question against the rules or no?

When two BELDUM fuse together, METANG is formed.

Metang's Ruby Pokedex Entry

Metagross is the result of two Metang achieving fusion

Metagross's Alpha Sapphire Dex Entry

This form results from one Metagross, one Metang, and two Beldum linking up.

Mega Metagross's Sun Dex Entry

So technically, yes. Metagross is two Metang fused together from behind. This is why Metagross looks like Metang with twice as many arms. Two Beldum make up the two arms of Metang, so for all intensive purposes, Metagross's four arms are Beldum.

Hope I could help!
